The Vectrex (known as Kousokusen in Japan, ja:光速船) vectrex was a 8-bit video game console developed by Smith Engineering, but it was distributed and licensed to General Consumer Electronics. When Milton Bradley purchased GCE, MB handled the sales of Vectrex. The Vectrex is known to be the only video game system in the world to display vector graphics, just his name says. It was released first in USA, and later, in Europe and Japan. In Japan, the Vectrex was released as one of the Bandai's three imported-from-America video games, the other two beings the Emerson Arcadia and the MattelIntellivision. Unlike the Arcadia, Bandai wasn't developed any exclusive games for that region, and Bandai didn't was translated the games, only their packages and instruction manuals.
The 1980s were a turbulent and fast-moving decade for the video game industry. There were huge success stories, rapid advancements in technology, and the North American Video Game Crash. Caught up in all of this was an ambitious machine called the Vectrex. In an era dominated by pixelated graphics the Vectrex brought higher resolution vector images and early 3D to market. But ultimately it. The Vectrex is an 8-bit video game console developed by General Consumer Electric (GCE) and later bought by Milton Bradley Company. It was released in late 1982 at a retail price of $199. As the video game market declined and then crashed, the Vectrex exited the market in early 1984. The console was fallen into the Crash of the Video Games, and didn't was seen again, until Rantmedia Games releases the Vectrex Regeneration, a compilation of Vectrex games for the iOS-based devices.

You can log Vectrex musics into VGM only in MESS. A few Vectrex games was also been ripped into the VGM format.

Vectrex 72 Game Multicart
This is the latest version of my 72 game multicart. It includes all of the original Vectrex releases (except for Animaction), and a variety of prototypes, homebrew games and demos.
New to Version 2:
- Veccy Bird (Michael Simonds' superb Flappy Bird clone)
- Whack a Mole (Full game from Chris Malcolm, playable with joystick, light-pen, or light-gun!)
- Space Race (1 or 2 player game from Chris Malcolm)
- Vecdrum (Vectrex drum machine by Chris Malcolm)
- Cantina Band Demo (Music demo from Chris Malcolm)
- Mail Plane Prototype (Unreleased light pen game - binary was kindly released to the Vectrex community by Chris Romero)
- Splut's Bells Demo (playable preview of my new Hunchback-inspired game)
The version 2 multicart is now fully compatible with all versions of the Vectrex, including the 'no-buzz' consoles with 7ADB BIOS.
The cartridge is menu based and all of the games are organised in categories (left and right on the joystick select a category, up and down select a game).

The multicart is sold as a bare PCB only, supplied in a labelled anti-static bag. The board is perfectly safe to use as-is, but a cartridge label is included if you want to re-house it in the shell from an old Vectrex game. I have no current plans to sell a cased version.
